Course Title	Year 12 - Western Australian Certificate of Education
Course Overview	The Year 12 Western Australian Certificate of Education Courses are designed to give you a wide range of options to complete Year 12 with the view of entering a tertiary institution. It is offered in two modes: February Entry and April Entry. Both courses finish in November. The February intake is a standard program which is suitable for all students who meet minimum entry requirements. The April intake is a discrete express course for above average students with limited courses available.
Certification Gained	Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) for students under 19 on 1st March 2009. Students over 19 will receive a Statement of Results from the Curriculum Council.
Suitable For	• Entry into a Western Australian public university on successful completion. • Entry into government and private universities throughout Australia and overseas. • TAFEWA
Course Duration	February Entry: 10 months (February - November) April Entry: 8 months (April - November)
Time Allocation	Students commencing classes in February will receive 4.5 hours per week per course/subject. Students in the April intake receive an extra hour per week of tuition in each course/subject. At the time of the final examinations in November, these students will have had slightly less total tuition hours as those who commenced in February.
Prerequisites	Local Students For students under 19 on 1st March 2010 satisfactory completion of Year 11 studies or equivalent. Students aiming to undertake Year 12 Science and Mathematics Courses are recommended to have completed some background preparation in these courses either through Year 11 or Bridging to Year 12 subjects.
